At JMS, we are more than just a soccer club; we are a community dedicated to the holistic development of young athletes, fostering not only their skills on the field but also their growth as individuals.
Juan Martinez Soccer (JMS) was founded with a mission to redefine youth soccer development. Rooted in the philosophy of creating high soccer-IQ players, JMS emphasizes the importance of character, discipline, and resilience alongside technical prowess.
Juan Martinez began coaching his own kids and their friends in his backyard. He officially began KICKS Soccer Club in 2005. As the club grew, Juan added more coaches and merged with the Feeders to create DKSC in 2018. As President and Executive Director of the Club, Juan led DKSC to national prominence and journeys all over the world. He is now bringing this experience to lead new endeavors with JMS in order to help grow the soccer-IQ for individual players dreaming of taking their game to the next level.
At JMS, we believe that success in soccer—and life—comes from a blend of hard work, strategic thinking, and strong values. Our approach focuses on developing players who are technically skilled, tactically aware, and mentally strong. We emphasize teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, preparing our players to excel on and off the field.
The core values of JMS—integrity, perseverance, and community—guide everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where players not only become better athletes but also better people.
Looking ahead, JMS aims to expand its reach and impact, continuing to innovate in player development and community engagement. We strive to be a beacon of excellence in youth soccer, empowering the next generation to reach their full potential.
Juan Martinez, the heart and soul of JMS, brings his passion for soccer and youth development to every aspect of the organization. His dedication to creating a supportive, challenging, and inspiring space for young athletes is the driving force behind JMS’s success.
Juan Martinez has been a dedicated coach since 2005. Prior to coaching, he played competitive soccer for nine years, achieving success in the Boys Classic League Division 1, participating in five Dallas Cup Tournaments, and competing in Texas State Cup and Regionals championship series. These experiences allowed Martinez to appreciate the profound impact soccer can
have on personal development.
His life took a transformative turn with the birth of his daughter in 2001, and again in 2005 when he agreed to coach her recreational soccer team. Witnessing the positive influence of soccer on young players, both on and off the field, inspired Coach Martinez to commit himself to nurturing well-rounded soccer players.
What began as a single recreational team practicing in his backyard has grown into a thriving soccer club now competing in the prestigious ECNL league. His 2001 girls team, despite minimal resources, emerged as the best team in North Texas, in Region 3, and went on to compete at the national level when USYSA was the top platform for U13 teams.
Throughout his coaching journey, Juan Martinez has developed a strong network within college soccer and international scouting, gaining invaluable insights into preparing athletes for both professional and college competitions. His dedication and achievements have earned him recognition from the North Texas Soccer Association, where he was named Girls Competitive Coach of the Year for two consecutive years.
Coach Martinez is known for developing players with high technical skills and strong soccer IQ. His motto, Trust the Process, emphasizes the importance of focusing on daily improvement across all phases of the game to become a better soccer player.
